Signs of the times with old cabinet doors

Oh dear. We are back at it again with a cabinet door project. What is it with old doors, I just can not leave them alone.

Solid wood planks with interesting details, pretty old hardware, and price tags cheaper than a salted caramel mocha frappuccina without the salt…sigh…just dreamy.

Such possibilities. Perhaps even more possibilities than the amount of leaves currently laying in my yard waiting to be raked. Which is saying a great deal about these doors…

…never mind my yard keeping skills. I just figured I had better make sure that all those leaves were completely off the trees before I bothered with them. Because, you know, I hate to waste labor and all that.

If my house disappears from view, at least I’ll know it was all worth it to have some decent cabinet door decor going on for Christmas. Know what I mean? Priorities people. it’s all. about. priorities.

Now really, you could use any old word you wanted to make a cute sign. All you need is some inexpensive wood letters to spell out your word, and some wood glue.

Glue them on, nice and tidy like.

Then, have yourself a merry little time painting it however you wish. Don’t forget to attach some handy hardware for your wall displaying pleasure.

Doesn’t that just make your heart happy. I do so enjoy unique little things to set around here and there.

And now that I’ve had my Christmas decorating play time…I’m completely ready to take a bang at the real deal. The ideas are just piling up. Much like the leaves. Sigh. Let’s just focus on the joy, shall we? (This sign is available for your viewing and purchasing pleasure in my shop HERE.)

Wow!”just found your blog & so excited! I was wondering what is a reasonable price for cabinet doors like this one? Thank you!

    • Abby says:

      Jodie,
I wouldn’t pay more than five dollars for one this size, ten for a big one. I can find them for a dollar at my local habitat for humanity store. You probably could find them for free on Craigslist as well. Thanks so much for stopping by!
